Think About Logos When Designing Web 2.0
The rise of web 2.0 has been fast and has become the buzz word of the Internet. We are all encouraged to use all the social media sites, and interact, to the point that we are always up to date with everything, everywhere. It is a wonder we still have telephones that we actually talk to each other one, is there still a need?
This might sound a little far fetched, but we are constantly sending messages and texts, not really talking. You know things like, ” I am using my Brother sewing machine“. Short messages, that are pretty pointless.
It is the very design of these web 2.0 sites that encourage it, with all the instant messaging, and updating available. We are constantly bombarded with the news of what our friends are doing, whether we are still interested or not.
So why have these sites become so popular? Well part of the appeal is that they have names that get people hooked, look at Twitter, how many people not “Tweet”. This is in fact one of the keys to the successful design of a web 2.0 site, the brand being established with a cool name, and the logo that goes with it. How many places do you now see the Facebook “F” logo, and we all know what it means. So take the time to think this through, it is an important element of your business.
